Last week in my garden June 25
Way too early this morning July 2
Baby Cantaloupe
Well so far so good. I have managed to keep this here garden of mine alive for yet another week, despite the neglect it receives from me. (This being super pregnant in the summer thing is no fun.) It is now so thick that it is hard to move around in, but we planned it that way so I would not have to do a lot of weeding. I am also feeling pretty proud of myself, because I found an easy way to get into and out of my tomato cages!
The green beans are starting to slow down, but the okra is really growing, and so is the eggplant! Also, last night in the garden we discovered our first little melons, and one tomatillo! That tomatillo plant is massive and has taken over a huge part of my garden! (I will know better next year)It is covered with yellow blooms, and crowding out some of my peppers, and it just now finally got a fruit on it! We are over run with jalapeno peppers, and we are now brainstorming on what to do with them all! I am thinking hot pepper jelly.
If you have a garden and are keeping photos and notes, please feel free to leave a link in the comment section. I would love to see how your garden is growing.
