Miss O and The Camera

Just recently Miss O learned how to use my camera. I went through them all, and these are some of my favorites. I have to say, she did pretty good. There were not that many blurry ones.

Her first selfie!

The Air and Space Museum and Celebrating One Year

It has been busy in my part of the world lately. We have had family visits, business trips, crafting, events, and celebrations. It has been fun, and there is more to come.
So I thought I would share one of our really cool adventures we had recently. DJ's Grandpa and Julie came out to visit us from Tennessee. It was a blast. They rented a van so we did not have to try and shuffle around in two vehicles (which made the visit extra pleasurable and less stressful) and they were so interested in seeing and doing many different things! We got to see things that we have not seen before, in places that we have been many times. One of the things we got to see was the Pima Air and Space Museum. WoW! So cool! There were so many different planes there, and Miss O loved it. Currently one of her favorite movies is Plane,s so she pointed out Dusty Crophopper and The Skipper to us all. I panicked a little when she peed in one of the planes you could sit in! I wiped it up with my sweater the best we could, but the seat was still wet! OOOOPS!
This place was so big, that one of the employees said on average it takes two days to see it all! However, after a few hours, we felt like we had all gotten our moneys worth!

****Also something super exciting, Saturday this here blog of mine celebrated its one year anniversary!

Drumroll Please........

I have been waiting for them for about two years now, and they are finally finished! I am talking about my bookshelves of course! My books have been stacked up in strange places through out the house, getting in the way and annoying us all. Wow, those books look so pretty all on the shelves together.

So, a little history about these new shelves of mine..... they are not new shelves at all. They started out as the shelves in our garage. In November we decided to redo the garage to accommodate our food storage better. We took out the old shelves and replaced them with some that can be adjusted, and would fit our needs better. We already had plans to make some shelves for the living room, but they were going to be made from scratch. Once the old ones came off the wall I started to really look at them, and decided that if we prettied them up, they would make great shelves for the living room. The best part about them is, they would cost so much less than making some.
So DJ and Poppy started to work on these around the new year. Poppy is a pretty handy fella when it comes to carpentry work, and has been teaching DJ all kinds of stuff!
These shelves make me so happy. Those two fellas turned some gross garage shelves into something really nice for very little money. They look great and it feels so good to have used something that we already have instead of purchasing or building something new.

A Photo, a single image, capturing a moment of the week. It is a moment that I want to stop and savor.

This Week In My Garden April 9

This morning in my garden

A melon sprout that is left over from last year

This lemon balm is growing great considering Miss O watered it this week with bubbles

peaches

Pears

Things are really taking off in this garden of ours. I planted all of my plants that I started from seed, and to my surprise they are doing very well. We were also shocked to find all the worms that have made our garden home this spring!!
The herbs that I planted in the pots last year and stopped taking care of this fall, are all growing great! Oh, and our peach and pear tree are showing a little fruit!
We have so many plans for our yard. We are going to build some raised beds, DJ is working on some rain barrels, and we are going to put in some flower beds as well! I am so excited and I get butterflies in my tummy (the good kind)  just thinking about this busy little place our yard is going to turn into!

Happy Easter

Those grilled carrots were soooooo good!!

Holy Week was filled with all kinds of Easter celebrations for my family. We had a lot of fun with the Easter Bunny, candy, and eggs. However, we also spent time making sure that Miss O understood the true meaning of Easter, and why it is so special.
Out of all of our Easter celebrations, the one pictured above seems to be the only one I have pictures of. I did not even get pictures of the kiddo's in there new Easter outfits before church on Sunday! Shame on me!
The photos above are of the neighbor kids and Miss O on an egg hunt. It was a super last minute activity, but they all had so much fun. My neighbor and I were outside and Sue, one of the other neighbors who has been on the street for years said that when everyone's kids were young, they would close off the street and have a big egg hunt, so we decided to do the same! We had a cookout, and then an egg hunt. However, by the time the egg hunt came around, it was already dark, but we decided to do it anyways. Aunt Rondia told us about how her grandkids and friends have an egg hunt at her house and they do it in the dark with flashlights! So, Hello headlamps!!!

This Week In My Garden: April 2

What an exciting time of year. I have been dreaming of this all winter.
Things are really happening in this yard of ours. Miss O and I have been working on getting seeds started, and I am really enjoying her involvement this year. She loves being outside and getting dirty. Our biggest garden challenge at the moment is trying to keep Miss O from digging in the dirt. She has had all winter to dig in the garden bed, and is still wanting to now that things are being planted.
Too cute!!
Next week should be pretty exciting in the garden, so stay tuned.

Short Rounds New Kicks

So,I have always felt that shoes for babies are kinda silly. I mean really, they are just there to be super cute, and serve no other function. Well Short Round really likes standing, and it is getting time for him to have shoes for the support. Aunt Rondia bought him the shoes picture above. I am in love with these shoes!!! They are so cute! (they are also a size 3! My almost 8 month old has huge feet!!) However, these shoes come with an added bonus......they have squeakers in them! Every time Short Round steps or stomps his feet, they squeak. They sound like little clown shoes!  Love! Love! Love!

Oh yeah, and I added a cute picture of Miss O growling at the camera!
